The Avenue of the Giants may just qualify as one of the most beautiful places in North America. It’s a narrow road that meanders through the giant redwood forests of northern California.
In shares many similarities with Cathedral Grove on Vancouver Island, but the road itself goes on for much longer. There are several campgrounds along the Avenue of the Giants, and if you know which sites to pick (we didn’t) you can even pitch your tent right inside the base of a living tree.
On a trip that was scenic nearly from start to finish, the Avenue of the Giants still manages to stand out as something special.
