Alcatraz only closed about 50 years ago, so it’s quite amazing how much decay can occur in such a short space of time. I guess being in the middle of the ocean and constantly bombarded by salty sea air and wind doesn’t help, but still…
There’s not much left of them, but you can still tell that the staff buildings were a tad nicer than the homes of the other residents…
