All cities have contrasts between the old and new. But if you’re used to North American Cities, that contrast is usually spans a maximum of 300 years.

But in Tokyo, where the oldest intact building is over 600 years old, and most of the old buildings are castles or temples, the contrasts are far more striking.

If you turn around at this spot, you’d be looking at the Imperial Palace.
