I remember coming to the top of a hill during a short trek through the Jungle in Hawaii, and being greeted by this small stand of trees. I was struck by the beauty of it, but also the eeriness; the forest in the distance seems to drop of the edge of the world, and the only sounds come from the various unseen jungle creatures.
