Equestrian Statue at Altare della Patria – Rome, Itlay

I could not decide which view of this scene I liked better, so I decided not to decide.

The statue is of Victor Emmanuel II, who was King of Italy from 1861 to 1878.

Now, one thing I can tell you that I know you will find fascinating is that the horse he is riding has perhaps the most intricately carved scrotum you will ever see.

    I don’t know much about bronze working, but I have to imagine the artist must have spent at least a few weeks just sculpting those testicles.

    That’s just nuts!
