A popular attraction in Budapest is ruins bars which are, as you might expect, bars built into ruined buildings.
As it happened, our accommodations were directly attached to what may be the most famous ruins bar in the city: Szimpla Kert.
It was a once a factory that was damaged during the war and never repaired. Today, the remains are a large bar by night, with a vibe that makes you feel like you walked into a Fallout game, but by day they host farmers markets and craft fairs.
I did take some more pictures of this place, which I’ll post soon. In the meantime, enjoy this fern that hangs along one of the hallways.
