Here is a shot of Seattle from what I guess kind of passes for a waterfront. I just don’t understand what the city planners of Seattle (if you can call them that) were thinking when they decided to build a freeway right along the waterfront. In my oh so humble opinion they completely ruined the city by doing that.
I have been to Seattle a few times, and each time I am underwhelmed. Pike Place Market? It’s interesting, but it doesn’t live up to the hype. Apart from that there just doesn’t seem to be much going on in the city itself. It’s not very walk-able owing to the steep hills, and driving through it is a nightmare because every street is a one way and most are so poorly marked you end up driving blocks out of your way just to turn around, that is if you don’t accidentally end up on a freeway first. Don’t even get me started on how expensive the parking is. It makes Vancouver look like a bargain, and that’s saying something.
