Now isn’t this just the picture of serenity. This beautiful mountain vista looks like paradise. That’s because you can’t see the ferocious and gigantic flies that were eating chunks out of my legs and leaving wounds that took weeks to heal.
Still, it is amazing view and well worth putting up with the bugs for. And at the end of the day you get to settle in for the best sleep of your life. There is nothing like drifting to sleep in the back country, where the air is fresh and cool and the only sound is the chirping of insects.
